There are sweeping changes occurring almost daily in software and mobile communications not only affecting our industry but you and your business. People want instant real-time information wherever they are on what ever communication device they feel is the latest and greatest. And they want it easy to use and affordable. We have selected the best-in-class ERP software systems for small to medium businesses that together cover the breadth of deployment alternatives: Cloud, SaaS, mobile, hosted and on-premise. However, there is lack of clarity about what these deployment models really are and are not.
While talking to our clients and even among industry professionals there is confusion and inconsistent terminology used when describing these models of deployment. For example: All SaaS models are cloud models but not all cloud models are SaaS. (Like all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares.) So watch out for the "SaaS-querade" models. Because it is confusing, we have created this primer to help eliminate some confusion about these terms and models.
